The Story
Note that there are two movies named Escape Room released on 2017. In this movie, six friends test their intelligence in escape room but they are finding out that this isn’t ordinary escape room.

It gets confusing when there are two movies with the same name released on the same year. First Escape Room is about mysterious cured box. Check out our review. This Escape Room is Saw influenced horror movie which involves death traps and puzzles.
For those who doesn’t know what escape room is, it is a physical adventure game in which players solve a series of puzzles and riddles using clues, hints and strategy to complete the objectives at hand. Players are given a set time limit to unveil the secret plot which is hidden within the rooms.
The pace of the movie is good. The movie spend very little time setting up the character and jump right into the Escape Room. But unfortunately, first half of the movie is them solving escape room puzzles. It takes a while for them to start realized that their life is threaten and this isn’t normal Escape Room.
The acting is decent. Throughout the movie, we do see little bit of personal dramas between each character but not enough to really care about the characters.
This movie can be easily compared to Saw series, but this movie doesn’t come closer to the level of Saw movies. First of all, the death puzzles and traps are not very original and creative. Second, we don’t know much about of the person who is behind the Escape Room. Third, the movie screams some kind of twist ending, but there is no twist ending. In fact, the ending is very anti-climatic and disappointing.
